The Wheel of Time - Main Characters, a work in progess
Casting by Rowena A
**CHECK OUT NEW SUGGESTIONS: EGWENE! Thom Merrilin! And Noal.
A few things to note, I actually hope they never make WoT into a film(s) or series because no one (me, hehe) will ever be satisfied - not just with the casting, but also the inevitable changes that must be made to adapt it.
As to my castlist... I am not a stickler for age as I've never seen screen adaptations demand the same age for characters and actors. Also, while the main protagonists start out being 18-20 it is hard to find actors that age who can convey the depth that would be needed. That being said, I'm not about to support ridiculous differences where they could not conceivably appear the right age.
I'm a bit stricter for height restrictions, and prefer to cast actors with their original hair colour to avoid problems like most of the Lannisters in Game of Thrones.

Rowena A says: Don't worry, I'm not one of those who take offence at well-meant criticism! 10 months ago I have heard that about Elliott, and I know that adding him purely for his appearance is a bit weak, but I haven't found anyone else I like. I guess he was raised in Texas then, as he was born in California - maybe no one's asked him to use a different accent? As to the age, I know what you mean... Sometimes I think he must've just gone white early like some do, but WoT often highlights the fact he can be acrobatic at his age - until the Fade injury, then he doesn't leap about so much. Stunt double? |
bigmike says: sorry but most of your selections are too old to play some of the parts. but if they do what i would love to see done they would just use cgi on the faces or all of it like Beowulf! then they could make the character to look as old or young as they like and make them look like the actor or actress who's doing the voices with small configuration to look like the character a little more than than the actor does like hair color eye color skin and height and body type just keep the face and body close to what the actor or actresses look like. 8 months ago |
bigmike says: Mel gibson hell no more like Jeff bridges or dennis Quaid just google "dennis quaid Beard" and it show him with a beard and his hand touching his face like hes thinking. or Jeff Bridges no Jeff ridges would work well as Gareth Byrne so dennis quaid as Elyas. beacause Mel gibson is a douche 8 months ago |
Rowena A says: I know the ages aren't exact, but what film adaptation requires actors to match character ages? If I feel they can pass, I'm okay with casting them.8 months ago Ooh, I found Beowulf's way of presenting characters creepy! Understandably, something would need to be done for the Aes Sedai face, but beyond that I'd rather get as close as I can with actors naturally. I don't like Quaid at all, so if I cast him it would not be as a character I find likeable... Bridges doesn't say Bryne to me in the slightest; too relaxed in demeanour. I know Gibson has become a moron, but I'm not casting for actor's personalities either. |
